This lavish three border design is thought to have originated in Byzantine times and is the original design that our popular Design 201 is based upon. Featuring only two colors (your choice of either a blue or red colorway), the outlining of the lighter color provides intricacy and contrast. A stunning piece of textile history, this design will become a treasured heirloom and would be wonderful to give as a wedding gift.

My high quality kits come with everything you need to make the runner in the photos–26 count 100% cotton Traditional Groundcloth (imported from Greece), DMC floss, full color SOC (symbol-on-chart) pattern with both a close up and a full size schematic so you know how many repeats to work, along with a John James size 24 tapestry needle. The raw edges of the fabric are serged for your convenience, so you can start stitching as soon as you open the kit!
